Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 until 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her degree from Berkeley earlier. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time, and was the youngest player in the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In 2012's London Olympics she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final clash against Canada. She was second in the United States to have 21 assists and 20 goals for 2012, which made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player to achieve 20 goals in a single year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments, while she won the Silver Boot in 2019.
