
Alexandra Rose Raisman was born on May 25, 1994. She is a retired American artist gymnast. She was captain of the 2012 "Fierce Five" and 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams, which have won individual teams competitions.At the 2012 Olympics in London, she won gold medals in the floor and team competitions as well as the bronze medal on the balance beam, making her the most accomplished American gymnast to compete at the Games. She won a team gold medal during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Gabby Douglas and Raisman are the only Americans to have back-to-back gold medals at this event. Raisman also took home silver in the all-around individual competition and for floor exercise. Raisman received silver medals for the individual all-around in addition to the floor exercise. She was also two-time national champion in floor exercise (2012 and 2015) and the reigning champion on the balance beam in 2012. She is also five times medalist in the all-around national championships (silver bronze, silver 2011, 2012 and in 2015). She was inducted into The International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in the year 2013.
