Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil was born on July 12, 1988[1].] She is a Canadian singer and actress. In 2005, O'Neil won the third season of Canadian Idol, the first Canadian female to have won. As an actress, she is most well-known for her role as Two or Rebecca and Portia Lin on the Syfy science fiction show Dark Matter and as Officer Lucy Chen on the ABC police procedural drama The Rookie.Although she was praised highly by judges, O'Neil suffered huge setbacks in both the Top 10 and Top 9 weeks of the finals since she was placed in the bottom three and the bottom two as well as the bottom two. After being shocked, judges encouraged viewers to choose Melissa, who was clearly the most vocal contestant. From then on, O'Neil never fell back into the bottom three of the rankings after her consistently high-rated performances, and judge Zack Werner declaring that she was "a chance to win the whole thing". On September 7, 2005, O'Neil made it to the final two spots of the contest, along with Goudie. Following some more impressive performances and performances, judge Werner famously declared that the headlines of the following day's papers would be "The King [Kalan Porter] has died and long live the Queen." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the grand final results show, September 14, 2005. She was also crowned the third Canadian Idol and the first female winner.
